Many analysts have justified Infosys' valuation by drawing parallels with the huge returns on Microsoft. Here are some links to interesting articles on Microsoft and the financial engineering that it has done through the issue of stock options to its employees and its writing of put options on its own stock. "Financial fraud", have been the words used.

A recent issue of ’The Economist’ (August 7th - 13th 1999) carries an article titled "Share Options". Amongst other things the article talks about the accounting issues relating to stock options. Their views are similar to what we have been saying on our site.
